Join the United Repair Centre: Repair the Clothing Industry at Scale
Are you ready to build technology that changes the clothing industry one repair at a time?
We’re United Repair Centre (URC), and we’re on a mission to reshape the clothing industry by extending the life of clothing while putting people first. Our scalable repair approach and platform serves global brands, cuts textile waste, and puts craftsmanship and impact at the heart of the clothing industry, while creating meaningful jobs for people distanced from the labor market.
As URC’s full stack engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building our core technology ecosystem and scaling our SaaS platform from MVP to market leader. You’ll be involved in shaping and building our product end to end. From backend services to frontend features, your work will directly influence how our application looks, feels, and scales.
Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js
Create clean, reusable frontend components with React and TypeScript
Work closely with engineers, designers, and product owners to ship valuable features
Turn business ideas into clear, well-structured technical tasks
Suggest and drive improvements in architecture, tooling, and development workflows
Take part in code reviews, documentation, and mentoring less experienced teammates
Short term, still maintaining and minor iterations on the MVP based on Microsoft Power Platform
Your Mission
As full stack engineer, you will:
Work across both backend and frontend parts of the application
Integrate with external APIs and third-party services
Write code that’s easy to maintain, performant, and ready to scale
Create unit and integration tests (Jest or similar)
Apply and promote best practices (SOLID, DRY, KISS)
Participate in Agile rituals and continuous delivery processes
What You Bring
2+ years of experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript in a full-stack role
Solid experience with Node.js and Express.js
Strong React skills and a good grasp of modern frontend patterns
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
Understanding of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT)
Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure is a plus)
Comfortable using Git, Docker, and the Linux command line
Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Good English communication skills
Strong affinity for URC’s mission
Bonus Skills
Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools
Awareness of security best practices and how to apply them
What We Offer
A key role in a fast-growing, purpose-driven company
Direct influence on our technology direction and team building
A salary aligned with the market and our growth phase
Flexible/remote working setup
A well being programme and personal budget
A culture where impact, autonomy and craftsmanship matter
