Fixing the broken apparel industry, one repair at a time, has been at the heart of United Repair Centre's work for the last four years. Now, thanks to our incredible team of highly-skilled technical tailors, and committed partners, we have big plans for 2026 - including new locations and investment in cutting edge technology.

We are making all of this possible by implementing some leadership changes that have been in the works for some time, and which will set us up for success in this new phase:

Paul Kerssens will take on the role of United Repair Centre’s CEO, with responsibility for making repair the new cool:

  • Growing the company with three new European locations in the next two years, starting with Paris in March 2026

  • Bringing on board brand partners - now over 30 and counting, across outdoors, sports and fashion

  • Guiding towards ambitious business objectives and new opportunities enabled by 3.2m EUR impact investment

  • Nurturing an inclusive and effective workforce community across all locations, including many who have been refugees or have had challenges gaining employment in the past

  • Focus on tech excellence - enabling quality and scale through cutting edge solutions and expertise

“United Repair Centre exists to provide a simple and effective solution to some of the most complex issues we are grappling with today, while creating long-lasting value for people, planet and business.

“Over the past four years we have built strong foundations from which we can grow, sustainably, in 2026. Everyone working with United Repair Centre, from our team mates, to brand partners, investors and supporters, has a crucial role to play - and I look forward to continuing this work together.”
Paul Kerssens, CEO United Repair Centre

United Repair Centre founder Thami Schweichler takes on the new role of Executive Chair of the board, with a focus on positively transforming the broken clothing industry:

  • As guardian and advocate for our vision and values - centring the importance of the people working in the global apparel supply chain

  • And as a figurehead for the systems-level change being effected by United Repair Centre and its partners

  • Partnering with Paul and United Repair Centre leadership Connecting United Repair Centre with opinion-leading organisations and individuals as executive chair of the board

“I have witnessed first hand the damaging effects of apparel industry waste and social inequality across the globe. This is what fuels me to continue building a movement where an industry takes responsibility for its actions, and where communities are equipped to thrive today, and across future generations. It might sound like tough work but, in fact, the solutions are there, and so many people I meet on my journey are committed to taking on this challenge, with hope and joy.” Thami Schweichler, Founder, United Repair Centre
